Exhibition Highlights

The Unfolding

'The Unfolding' consists of various artworks, including drawings, paintings and large paper scrolls telling stories of the landscape in abstract representations, epitomising the inherent living structures that are visible and non-visible elements of Nature’s designs. Within the paintings and drawings are hidden narratives, which through the process of unfolding, Nature reveals its beauty. However, beauty is not only what we see, but also the inherent processes and morphological sequences of creation that make the whole and results in a feeling of belonging. Roös proposes finding solutions for our current planetary crisis in the natural order of Nature. Embedded in art, design and scientific analysis, the artists’ paintings celebrate the splendour and interconnectivity of everything in Nature, a world we must preserve.

Aquaphilia

All living creatures on earth have an innate connection to water, in fact we cannot survive without water. This deep affiliation to water heightens our sensory experiences and attachment to place, where beautiful landscapes along waterways have become human settlements since ancient times.  In this exhibition ‘Aquaphilia’, five contributors from the multidisciplinary background of architecture, landscape architecture, sculpture and fine arts – submerge themselves into the depths of their practice and produce works reflective of a 'Love of Water’.  The collection of contemporary visual and interactive artworks underpinned by the adoration for hydration, raises questions of social and environmental consciousness.

Hydro-Philos Storylines

In 'Hydro-Philos', Roös expressed his feelings, experiences and his interpretations of the various natural environments connected to water, which he immersed himself into, through his drawings, paintings and large paper scrolls. Analysing the meanings of hydrophilic and hydrophobic elements, what the innate connections are between various life forms, our place in the ecosystem and importantly our human love of water, aquaphilia.
