Through film and photography Dr Phillip Roös invites you to join him on a journey of discovery.
Our world is full of marvels to be discovered, our life a journey of exploration, our connection to nature an enlightenment of wisdom.
In Shakespeare's words: "And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything."

Living Structures - The Architecture for Life
This documentary film provides a thought-provoking narrative questioning the current state of our built environment, challenging the status quo to consider how we need to include the structures of Nature to create places of belonging. Human beings are intrinsically connected and linked to visible and non-visible geometric forms and patterns in Nature – the living structures. In order to create healthy living environments in our cities and buildings, we need to include the principles of connecting to place, of belonging, of attachment to the natural world – biophilia – our innate connection to Nature.
Featuring, created and written by Dr Phillip B. Roös, he proposes finding solutions for our current planetary crisis in the natural order of Nature. The film provides an introduction to his long-term and ongoing research, where through his transdisciplinary practice he explores our deep connection to the earth, researching living structures found in nature and translating what he observes into new knowledge. He argues for a new worldview where we acknowledge being humanity as part of Nature and not above it. By using fundamental patterns of ‘a nature language’, his work suggests that we look to the complex order of Nature for possible solutions to address our current planetary emergency.
